·          the 6-th Edition of the Conference on Amorphous and Nanostructured Chalcogenides (ANC-6) has been extended till the 15th of March 2013. We invite you to attend the 6-th Edition of the Conference on Amorphous and Nanostructured Chalcogenides (ANC-6) that will be held in Brasov (Romania) in June 24 - 28, 2013.

 

The conference is promoted by the Virtual Institute of Physics of the Horia Hulubei Foundation, under UNESCO chair, together with the National Institute of Materials Physics, in cooperation with the University of Bucharest, National Institute of Optoelectronics and Transilvania University of Brasov.

 

The aim of the conference is to stimulate the participants to present the most recent results and to exchange ideas on the advancement in the research as well as applications of chalcogenides materials in the following areas, amongst others:

 

- State of the art in physics and chemistry of non-crystalline chalcogenides;

- Nanostructured chalcogenides;

- Intermediate phases;

- Nanocrystalline and microcrystalline chalcogenides;

- Switching (Ovonic) materials;

- Complex chalcogenide glasses;

- Related materials (including other non-oxide glasses);

- Applications.

ELI - NUCLEAR PHYSICS, MAGURELE

ELI-Infrastructura de fizica nucleara

Urmand a fi construit in Bucuresti-Magurele, ELI-NP va fi unul dintre cei trei piloni ai ELI-THE EXTREME LIGHT INFRASTRUCTURE, impreuna cu centrele dedicate studiului surselor secundare (Dolni Brezany, langa Praga) si pulsurilor in atosecunde (Szeged).

ELI-NP este o infrastructura foarte complexa care va gazdui doua echipamente cu performante extraordinare:

- Un sistem laser de mare putere, unde fasciculele de la doua lasere de 10 PW sunt adaugate in mod coerent pentru a se obtine intensitati de ordinul 1023-1024 W/cm2 si campuri electrice de 1015 V/m;

- Un fascicul de radiatie γ foarte intens si stralucitor (1013 γ/s), cu o latime de banda de 0.1% si energie reglabila pana la Ev > 19 MeV, obtinut prin retroimprastiere incoerenta prin efect Compton a unei radiatii laser pe un fascicul intens de electroni accelerati (Ee > 700 MeV) produs de un accelerator cu tehnologie clasica.

ELI-NP va crea un nou laborator european care sa investigheze in detaliu probleme dintr-o gama foarte larga de domenii stiintifice, de la noi zone ale fizicii fundamentale, aspecte referitoare la fizica nucleara si astrofizica, la aplicatii in stiinta materialelor, stiintele vietii si gestionarea materialelor nucleare.
