Project Objectives

O1.
Numerical simulations of harmonics generation in laser produced plasmas and plasma dynamics.

O2.
Analyse experimentally the dependence of the harmonics properties (i.e. intensity, polarization and divergence) on the properties of the driving laser pulses: intensity, polarization in focus.

O3.
Experimental study on the effects of the high order harmonics (50-200 nm), X (with photons at 100 keV) and gamma rays (from a Co60 source) on commercial fibres used for plasma spectroscopy.

O4. Optical spectroscopy measurements of the gas and solid plasmas will be carried in order to determine the plasma properties (density and temperature) as a function of driving laser parameters: intensity, polarization, duration.
